Feature request: Copy datalogger and sensor type to all stations at users request
Frequently a network consists of all or almost all of the same equipment (datalogger and sensor type, or at least datalogger type) and in larger networks selecting the equipment type for every station is repetitive and error prone. For example, for the SmartSolo shakedown test in May 2020, the stationXML had 100 stations with the same equipment types at every station. In the end, the wrong instrument type was selected for 2 or 3 dataloggers.
Allowing the user to select the option of propagating the same datalogger and sensor choice to all stations after selecting it on the first station would remove that source of error and speed up metadata creation. Since some networks have the same datalogger but different sensor types, it would be useful to have separate options to propagate the datalogger and sensor type selections to other stations.
After populating all stations with the same datalogger/sensor type as the first station, the datalogger and sensor type fields should still be modifiable via the dropdown for each station in case a single station needs to be changed.

What do you think the best interface would be? Potential ideas:
- Multiple selection: This is possible with qt, but I'm not sure how envolved it is, especially since we have a tree and channels can also be selected.
- Some kind of default station that all new stations get.
- Copy paste.

This issue has been addressed in MR !27 (merged) and will be released in a new version of nexus.
We will make a general announcement when the new version is available for testing.
